Die Yster Jaco Gouws - Foto: Erick Pietersen Impala whitewashed Alberton in Rustenburg on Saturday with the New Concept Mining First scoring eleven tries in demolishing the visitors 71-3. The Seconds, Thirds and both Junior sides also won their fixtures.
It was one-way traffic for the Miners who have to beat both Pirates and Roodepoort with bonus points in the next two weeks to have an outside chance of qualifying for the play-offs in the Predator League.
Two players, centre Lloyd Seleka and fullback Lourens Nagel, scored two tries each with winger Josh Finlay helping himself to 21 points, converting eight of the tires and scoring one himself.
Impala coach Chris Buitendach believes that flanker Henro Huyser and scrumhalf Jerome Appollis should play Currie Cup rugby. Huyser in particular was in awesome form against Alberton.
“Jerome could play Currie Cup Premier League rugby. He has a slight hamstring strain and I just hope that he is fit for Pirates and Roodepoort,” says Buitendach.
